Johanna Bierlein represents clients in national and international arbitration proceedings as well as litigation before state courts.

She advises and represents clients primarily in contractual disputes and regularly counsels companies in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.

Prior to joining Busse Disputes, Johanna Bierlein worked as an associate in the Frankfurt and New York offices of a leading international law firm, focusing on M&A transactions. As a result, she has developed particular expertise in complex post-M&A disputes, especially those involving purchase price adjustments and warranty claims.

Johanna Bierlein is admitted to the bar in Germany and New York. She studied law at Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg and completed part of her legal traineeship at a commercial law firm in Copenhagen. She also earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Columbia Law School in New York. Before qualifying as an attorney, she worked for several years as a research assistant at a university chair specialising in commercial private law. Johanna Bierlein is fluent in German and English.
