Silke Justen represents clients in arbitration, in particular in the energy sector. She has particular experience with joint venture disputes as well as insurance law and finance law disputes.

Silke Justen practiced in international law firms for 14 years, and was a counsel for eight of those years. She represents clients in national and international arbitrations under inter alia the arbitration rules of the ICC, DIS and LCIA in addition to ad hoc proceedings. Furthermore, she possesses many years of experience with regard to proceedings before German courts and in settlement proceedings. Legal 500 has listed Silke Justen in its “names of the next generation” of arbitration practitioners. She is also listed in Who’s Who Legal for arbitration.

A focus of Silke Justen’s practice concerns arbitrations that arise out of the energy sector. Her experience spans across nearly the entire spectrum of contractually based, commercial energy conflicts. In particular, she has acted in a variety of disputes related to the adjustment of contractual provisions and is frequently involved in joint venture disputes. Furthermore, Silke Justen regularly acts in proceedings related to insurance law, which frequently occur in connection with claims for damages stemming from the energy sector. In this regard, she has represented clients in coverage disputes concerning primary insurers in addition to reinsurance disputes. Silke Justen possesses detailed expertise with regard to disputes that raise project finance questions.
